Week 24 - Spanish Town

Week 24  02-22-2016   

Dear Family and Friends -

This week Was Awesome!! It started off slow but the weekend was the bomb!

This week we had Zone Conference and Elder Zivic came to talk to us. He is called of god for sure. He speaks Spanish  but English is his second language. He is so good at English. He told all of us we are all called here at this time for a special reason. He said we are all very special missionaries. It was so fun to listen to him! It always gets us excited to baptize more!! I know we will :) The Lord keeps preparing people for us.

On Tuesday we were Biking in a new part of our area and this guy yelled "WHITE MAN YOU COME HELP US" They were moving big rocks. We kind of laughed and we went and helped. Turns out it is a family building the house... They were so impressed that they said we can come by anytime we want and talk haha we are seeing them tomorrow to help with the house and then teach a lesson!! So excited. The lord has his hand in everything.

On Wednesday I went on a trade off with Elder Stevens! He is awesome! Makes me Laugh all the time! He is such a happy Elder. We saw 4 people that day. The work is going forth!

Saturday we had 6 Lessons. We met with another family that used to meet with the missionaries! A boy was at their house who was kicked out of his house by his parents. We are teaching him with them as well! He was smiling a lot when we were talking about the restoration. The mom said you guys came today for a reason. He has never been in my yard before but the day you elders come is the day he is here. The lord sent you here and that’s my testimony! haha wow it was cool to hear her say that!

Sunday we met with Kevin and his Family. We stopped by at 7 and they were playing a game. They had big Spliffs in their hand haha! Oh my word we got other things now to focus on. Love the word of wisdom. It was a good lesson at 8 though! I love that Family! There were 4 kids! haha.

Kati-Ann and her family were at church this week again!! After sacrament meeting she went out in the hall and came back so excited!! Her Half Sister is taking the lessons from Elder Robbins (MTC Companion) and Numbers!! haha The lord prepared that family for sure! They were so happy to see each other. Her sister said There is something different about this church we got to stay! haha YES!!!! She is getting baptized on March 12th and Kati- Ann and Fam will be the 20th of March!! So excited for them!!

Really got to see how much the lord loves us this week! He is blessing our area like crazy!! Love Jamaica!!

Week 23 - Spanish Town

Week 23  02-15-2016 

Dear Family and Friends, 

This week was Awesome!!

On Monday we when to Kingston and went bowling! That was a blast i didn't win any games but i did get some nice strikes! Elder Gordon (a Jamaica) Never went bowling before and he beat all 3 of us!! He has got some luck!!

Wednesday was district meeting. We talked about Faith Repentance and Baptism. It was good! Faith makes us want to repent and when we repent we want to be baptized!! That is what we are trying to teach people. Teach repentance and baptize converts! It's great!

After District meeting I went on a trade off with Elder Robbins my MTC Companion! It was awesome to see how much we have grown in 5 months! He is great! We also went on a trade off with the Zone Leaders. It was fun. Our area was shut down that day which stinks but we got to see Kati-Ann and her Family!! They came to church on Sunday!! They said they want to be baptized on March 20 as well!! I'm so excited for them!!

I got to give a talk on Valentine’s Day. Love when we get asked 24 hours before the talk haha. I talked about how much HF loves us. He gave us his son and he died for us so we can return to live with HF again. If He loves us that much he loves all of his children the same. Members and Non Members. If we have charity like Christ wouldn't we want to share the gospel too with our friends and neighbors? President McKay said "I commit all of you to bring at least 1 new member into the church each year" Could you imagine The size of the ward if we all did that! Would probably get split soon again!! Keep Sharing the gospel with everyone!!

Week 22 - Spanish Town

Week 22  02-08-2016 

Dear Family and Friends,

 This week was such a great one!! We started off not so good but by the end of the week we had an amazing lesson with a family. Kadi-ann, Jodi-ann, Shakiel, and sophia. There was a baby too but i forgot his name. They are amazing. We found them on the street and we gave them 1 track on the Plan of Salvation. Turns out they all read it and all had questions for us! The daughter Jodi-ann had so many questions but they said they would come to church this week so hopefully they can come! I'm super excited for this family. The Dad lives in the states though. Hopefully he comes down soon. She made sure to tell us too he is just like us and is white haha. Jamaicans crack me up. There was something so special about that family Elder Bischoff and I looked at eachother after the lesson and said they are the elect that we talk about!

On Wednesday was elder Bischoff's birthday. He got Floured good!! he came outside and I walked behind him and shut the grill to the house so he couldn't get in and he started running around the house. The Zone Leaders got 2 huge bags of flour and dumped it on him! haha it was great! I Made him a cake and the other elders got ice cream for us. Birthdays are fun on the mission if you can find happiness it things haha :)

Dwayne and Yaneek Told us they aren't getting Married until April which means they won't be baptized until May :/ It stinks but hopfully they do fallow through. I'll be excited to hear from them when they are baptized.

A Mission has really helped me see the lords hand is in all things. It has also allowed me to find out the things i'm working on that i need to get better at!!

Week 21 - Spanish Town

Week 21  02-01-2016 

Dear Family and Friends, 

This week was pretty great!! Dwayne and Yaneek came to church!! We talked to the Ward Council and told them that we can't do too much more with Dwayne and Yaneek and we need their help to fellowship them. Sure enough they found the 2 Recent Converts that were baptized 6 weeks ago and they are having studies over a App called What’s Up! They are excited to help are we are excited to see what’s going to happen!!

We found 4 families this week we have only gotten to meet with 1 of them so far. The Rest we will meet this week. We Found One lady carrying around a white baby. It was weird and she said that her husband lives in the states and was like us haha. Got to love the little things in life. We are seeing here on Saturday though and she seemed excited!

Sadly the man that let us into his house when it was raining went out of the country for a month :( We will be looking forward to seeing him soon though!! Months fly by so fast!

We had nuff meal appointments this week. We had 3!! That’s the most ever!. Sister Harrison lives on 31 St. Johns. It’s a sketchy road but we like it! The people there are nice to us! We had Ackie and Salt Fish and Yahmms. Elder Gordan gave me his extra one he didn't want to eat when Sister Harrison wasn't looking. I didn't feel too well after that 3rd yahmm. Yesterday we had Dinner at Bishops house! It was nice to sit down at a table and eat. Don't get to do that very often. We had Brown Stew Chicken and Rice and Peas and she made us a pineapple upside down cake! It was supper Yummy!

I'm so grateful for this gospel and how everyday i can see a tender mercy from the lord. When appointments fall through we always find someone who the lord has directed us to see! I can't wait to see what this week has in store!!
